Summer Vacation Begins!

Last week school officially let out for the summer.....FINALLY!  Our district had a late start this past year so we went longer into June.  I'm glad to have my girls home with me but it's been quite the challenge to worry each day about how to keep them entertained.  I had very high hopes that we would find ways to not be bored, but I am proven wrong each day.  So far they have spent lots of time outside on their bikes and scooters.....
Made a trip to the library......
And worked on some arts and crafts.  This is a little basket that Emma made out of some scrapbook paper.
The exciting news is that Samantha has removed the training wheels off of her bike and is learning to ride with just two wheels.  She is doing so great and picked it up immediately.
The only struggle she has had has been with making turns.  So we decided that taking her to the track at the elementary school would be beneficial because of the natural turns.  The first time we went she rode a mile and a half!  We went last night for Family Home Evening and she did another mile.  Hooray!
The girls were pretty dramatic in this picture....they were a bit overheated from lots of riding.
Here are a couple of videos that we took of Samantha:
Only about nine more weeks of summer to go!

Wow, I can't believe school went so long into June for you guys! We got out around the 5th. Aspen is already very nervous about 1st grade, since it will be her first experience with full-day. I know she is going to love it as soon as she gets used to it... she always has a hard time with change, but at least she will have her same teacher because her Kindergarten teacher moves up to 1st grade next year, and we really liked her teacher.

I hope the girls can find lots of fun things to do this summer. It's nice that they have eachother to play with.

So, you're getting closer for the arrival of #3, too! I forget- did you find out if it is a girl or a boy? Either way, I'm so excited for you!!

Fun! I have trouble keeping my kids entertained too...it's so freaking hot here, and we don't have a pool, which is REALLY HARD! I know that sounds wimpy, but it is. Awesome about Samantha riding a two wheeler...yeehaw! Lots of LOVE!
